THE WISH
"The Wish" is a timeless story of a crystalline Christmas eve on which one man's wish is granted—the chance to transcend the bounds of mortality and share with his father those words they never spoke in life.

The Hill House edition of "The Wish" also includes a new and original introduction by Mr. Bradbury, titled, "How I Wrote The Wish."

THE CAT'S PAJAMAS: STORIES + 5 by Ray Bradbury
In August of 2004 William Morrow published a new collection of stories by Ray Bradbury: THE CAT'S PAJAMAS: Stories. It contains twenty-two stories—some old, some new, and all but two of them never before published.

Hill House has published a deluxe signed limited edition of THE CAT'S PAJAMAS. The subtitle of the Hill House edition is slightly different, however: Stories + 5.

The reason for this change is that Hill House, with the active participation of Ray Bradbury, has added five new stories to the volume. Four of these stories have never been published until now; the fifth has seen print only once in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.

The five new stories in THE CAT'S PAJAMAS: Stories + 5 are classic Ray Bradbury tales, with twists, turns, and surprises, filled with the joy that we experience through the simple act of living—and shadowed by the darkness that waits for us just around the corner.

Check out previews of these five new stories by clicking on the links at left. . .

AMERICAN GODS by Neil Gaiman
Shadow spent three years in prison, keeping his head down, doing his time. All he wanted was to get back to the loving arms of his wife and to stay out of trouble for the rest of his life. But days before his scheduled release, he learns that his wife has been killed in an accident, and his world becomes a colder place.

On the plane ride home to the funeral, Shadow meets a grizzled man who calls himself Mr. Wednesday. A self-styled grifter and rogue, Wednesday offers Shadow a job. And Shadow, a man with nothing to lose, accepts.

But working for the enigmatic Wednesday is not without its price, and Shadow soon learns that his role in Wednesday's schemes will be far more dangerous than he ever could have imagined. Entangled in a world of secrets, he embarks on a wild road trip and encounters, among others, the murderous Czernobog, the impish Mr. Nancy, and the beautiful Easter -- all of whom seem to know more about Shadow than he himself does.

All around them a storm of epic proportions threatens to break. Soon Shadow and Wednesday will be swept up into a conflict as old as humanity itself. For beneath the placid surface of everyday life a war is being fought -- and the prize is the very soul of America.
