THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES: The Definitive Edition
Available in April 2007

The Hill House publication of THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES: The Definitive Edition is far more than simply another limited edition. It is a truly definitive compilation of the core stories featured in the first edition, additional Mars stories written by Mr. Bradbury, seven new stunning pieces of full-color art by artist Edward Miller, two film scripts written by Mr. Bradbury (never seen before), and an array of fascinating behind-the-scenes material that provides a much richer dimension to this classic work than ever before.

THE WISH
"The Wish" is a timeless story of a crystalline Christmas eve on which one man's wish is granted—the chance to transcend the bounds of mortality and share with his father those words they never spoke in life.

The Hill House edition of "The Wish" also includes a new and original introduction by Mr. Bradbury, titled, "How I Wrote The Wish."

THE CAT'S PAJAMAS: STORIES + 5
In August of 2004 William Morrow published a new collection of stories by Ray Bradbury: THE CAT'S PAJAMAS: Stories. It contains twenty-two stories—some old, some new, and all but two of them never before published.

Hill House has published a deluxe signed limited edition of THE CAT'S PAJAMAS. The subtitle of the Hill House edition is slightly different, however: Stories + 5.

The reason for this change is that Hill House, with the active participation of Ray Bradbury, has added five new stories to the volume. Four of these stories have never been published until now; the fifth has seen print only once in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.

The five new stories in THE CAT'S PAJAMAS: Stories + 5 are classic Ray Bradbury tales, with twists, turns, and surprises, filled with the joy that we experience through the simple act of living—and shadowed by the darkness that waits for us just around the corner.

Check out previews of these five new stories by clicking on the links at left. . .

Ray Bradbury, American novelist, short story writer, essayist, playwright, screenwriter and poet, was born August 22, 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois. He graduated from a Los Angeles high school in 1938. Although his formal education ended there, he became a "student of life," selling newspapers on L.A. street corners from 1938 to 1942, spending his nights in the public library and his days at the typewriter. He became a full-time writer in 1943, and contributed numerous short stories to periodicals before publishing a collection of them, Dark Carnival, in 1947. His reputation as a writer of courage and vision was established with the publication of The Martian Chronicles in 1950, which describes the first attempts of Earth people to conquer and colonize Mars, and the unintended consequences.

Ray Bradbury's work has been included in four Best American Short Story collections. He has been awarded the O. Henry Memorial Award, the Benjamin Franklin Award, the World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Grand Master Award from the Science Fiction Writers of America, the PEN Center USA West Lifetime Achievement Award, among others. In November 2000, the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters was conferred upon Mr. Bradbury at the 2000 National Book Awards Ceremony in New York City.
